Condom-in-Soup Lawsuit Settled
Waiter, there's a condom in my soup!   (Shutter Stock)

A California man who says he was horrified when the chewier-than-usual cheese in his French onion soup turned out to be a condom has settled his lawsuit with a restaurant chain. The agreement between Claim Jumper restaurants and the plaintiff, for an undisclosed amount, "is not to be construed as an admission of liability by either party," lawyers for both sides tell the Orange County Register.

The man's lawyer says he rejected an offer of $30,000 from the restaurant earlier this month because he wanted vindication for his "tarnished reputation" after being accused of putting the condom in the soup to scam the restaurant. The lawyer says the condom was sent for tests which found DNA on it that didn't belong to the plaintiff or his wife. (More lawsuit stories.)
