(Newser) – Troops who refuse to obey orders because they don't believe President Obama was born in America have a friend in Fox News analyst Thomas McInerney. The retired three-star Air Force general has filed an affidavit in support of Terrence Lakin, an Army doctor who's facing court-martial for refusing to deploy to Afghanistan because he doesn't believe Obama is a legitimate president.

In the affidavit obtained by Talking Points Memo, McInerney praises Lakin's "courage and conviction" and says the officer has "acted exactly as proper training dictates" by refusing to obey orders. A dangerous lack of faith in the military chain of command now exists, he writes "because of the widespread and legitimate concerns that the president is constitutionally ineligible to hold office."

McInerney has been a frequent guest on Fox News over the last decade.

My question is why is there any question as to where he was born? Why has Obama not produced the same documentation every other person is required to produce? Why has the news media has not done their job, it is called investigative reporting. The American public should have no question about his birth place by this time. I do not know the answer so I will ask it again, "why is there any question as to where he was born?" We still do not have an answer.

I'm not a birther. I'm a passporter. Some of my friends are transcripters. Lots of unanswered questions about a community organizer who would become the President. Please, no race card. That's over.
