(NEWSER) - A felon serving time in a Texas prison has managed to give President Obama a run for his money in West Virginia's Democratic primary. Keith Judd, who is serving a federal sentence for extortion, took 40% of the vote to Obama's 60%, the highest result of any Democratic challenger in the primaries so far, reports Politico . The result may get Judd four delegates to the Democratic National Convention, although officials say it's not clear whether he has filed the necessary paperwork. More»

Adan Fabian Perez was believed murdered

(NEWSER) - Police have identified the body found yesterday at a Churchill Downs barn , whom they believe was murdered. Adan Fabian Perez, 48, was reportedly a groom for trainer Cecil Borel and had been licensed by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission since 2008. The Guatemala native lived on Churchill Down's backside, where his body was discovered. The body was identified by Perez's son, a fellow Churchill Downs worker. Dead male found just 4 barns away from I'll Have Another

(NEWSER) - The day after I'll Have Another broke from the field to win the first leg of the Triple Crown, Kentucky police are investigating a man's body that was found at Churchill Downs this morning. The body was found in Barn 8, just four barns away from where the new Derby winner is stabled, though police tell the AP that he had no connection to I'll Have Another or Churchill Downs. Police are treating the death as a homicide. It's not the vaunted track's first brush with death: Jockey Michael Baze died of an apparent overdose near the stables about a week after last year's Derby. More»
