WWF wrestler has heart attack while driving

(NEWSER) - "Macho Man" Randy Savage, the WWF wrestler and Slim Jim spokesman, has died in a Tampa car accident, TMZ reports. The 58-year-old had a heart attack while driving, said his brother. The Jeep sped through oncoming traffic and struck a tree head-on, highway officials said. Savage died in the hospital; his wife, Lynn, who was also in the car, suffered minor injuries and was treated in a different hospital. More»

(AP) - Tim Lincecum and Roy Halladay were selected today as the starting pitchers for tomorrow night's All-Star game in St. Louis. Lincecum, last year's National League Cy Young Award winner, is 10-2 with a 2.33 ERA for the San Francisco Giants; he got the nod from NL manager Charlie Manuel. The former Red Sox center fielder went to the All-Star Game seven times in his 11-year career, and earned accolades from his contemporaries. (NEWSER) - Harry Kalas, who announced Philadelphia Phillies games since 1971, died today, the Inquirer reports. Kalas, 73, was found unconscious at Nationals Stadium in Washington and rushed to a hospital, where he died.
