(NEWSER) - Despite a late Boise State comeback in the final minutes of regulation, East Carolina and MVP Chris Johnson are Hawaii bowl champions, the AP reports. A field goal at the end of regulation gave the Pirates a 41-38 victory over the favorites 24th-ranked Boise State. The victory is East Carolina's first in the post season since 2000. More»

(NEWSER) - Florida’s sophomore quarterback Tim Tebow may be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy but he will face stiff competition from Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, who was last year’s runner-up. Also vying for college football’s top individual prize are Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel and Hawaii signal-caller Colt Brennan. “I think anyone could win it,” said Brennan, reports the AP. More»

(NEWSER) - Florida quarterback Tim Tebow set a long list of records as a player this year; now he's set one as an award winner by claiming the 2007 Heisman Trophy. He became the first sophomore, and the first underclassman of any stripe, to be voted the award since New York's Downtown Athletic Club began handing it out in 1935.
