Teams to continue search for bodies

(NEWSER) - Three hikers who fell over a waterfall in Yosemite National Park yesterday are now presumed dead. The trio—all in their 20s—climbed over a guardrail at the top of Vernal Falls, lost their footing in the swift water, and were swept over the 317-foot waterfall, say witnesses. Californian David Potts bobs up once, vanishes

(NEWSER) - Horrified onlookers watched helplessly as a Northern California man was sucked into a tourist-touted "blowhole" on the shores of Maui. David Potts was clowning around close to the geyser-like phenomenon when a sneaker wave knocked him off his feet and he disappeared down the spouting hole. He bobbed to the surface once, then vanished underground. "We all stared for like 30 seconds, and then I realized—he's gone," said a witness. "I felt like I was going to throw up." (NEWSER) - Enormous rogue waves swept over a northern California beach today and injured at least 15 people watching a surfing contest. A handful of spectators were taken to the hospital, some with broken bones.
