(NEWSER) - The Pakistani government offered the transcript of an intercepted phone call today as evidence that the Benazir Bhutto's murder was the work of Baitullah Mehsud, an extremist linked to al Qaeda and the Taliban, the AP reports. In the transcript, Mehsud congratulates an operative for a "spectacular job" in the suicide bombing, saying, "They were very brave boys who killed her." More»

(NEWSER) - It looks more and more like Benazir Bhutto never had a chance that day. A Pakistani court today indicted two police officers in connection with her 2007 assassination in Rawalpindi, including the former police chief of the city. The pair, in charge of the former prime minister's security, had been previously arrested . "They have been charged with conspiracy as well as abetment in the murder," a government prosecutor tells Reuters . More»

(NEWSER) - Osama bin Laden's youngest son and presumed heir won't be going into the family business. US officials say Hamza bin Laden was killed along with his father in the raid on the Abbotabad compound, reports the Telegraph . Hamza, believed to have been around 20 years old, was the youngest of bin Laden's 18 sons, and intelligence agencies suspect he was being groomed as a future leader of al-Qaeda. Hamza—dubbed the "Crown Prince of Terror"—spoke in an al-Qaeda video released in 2008 and was named as a potential assassin by former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, who was killed in 2007. Courts issue second arrest warrant in Bhutto slaying

(AP) - A prosecutor says a court has told Pakistani authorities to trace the address of former military ruler Pervez Musharraf to arrest him in connection with the Benazir Bhutto assassination. Musharraf left Pakistan for London after quitting the presidency in 2008. Prosecutors allege Musharraf was part of the conspiracy to kill her because he did not do enough to protect her. More»
