(NEWSER) - A woman missed an American Airlines connecting flight because she was wearing a pro-choice T-shirt with an obscenity about what she might do to a senator. The captain of a flight the woman was exiting scolded her over the shirt that read: “If I wanted the government in my womb, I’d f--- a senator,” and said she would have to change before boarding her next flight. “This conversation led to me missing my connecting flight," the passenger told RH Reality Check . (NEWSER) - US Airways has taken a big step in its plan to merge with bankrupt American Airlines, it announced today by filing a form with the SEC. A letter to US Airways employees from the CEO explains that to win a merger the company still needs the OK of American-parent AMR's creditors, management, and board of directors, but that US Air has reached agreements with the three unions representing almost all American employees, all of which now support a merger. "This is obviously an important first step," writes Doug Parker, "and we are hopeful we can all work together to make this happen." More»

Fired flight attendant claims paying customers were bumped for airline execs

(NEWSER) - American Airlines is suing a former flight attendant who has mocked the airline's management in a series of YouTube videos. Gailen David, who was fired a few weeks ago, revealed the flight plans of several airline execs and claimed that the airline had bumped frequent flyers from first class to coach to make room for them, according to the lawsuit. The suit accuses Gailen and 10 unnamed airline workers who allegedly passed him information of breach of duty, conspiracy, and trade infringement, MSNBC reports. More»
