Briere beats Islanders in shootout, rookies lift Leafs past Canadiens

(NEWSER) - Trading for Cristobal Huet paid off again for the Washington Capitals tonight, reports the Associated Press. Huet recorded his second shutout for the Caps and 17th of his career by blanking the Florida Panthers, 4-0, making 32 saves. It was Huet's fourth shutout of the season. Ottawa edges St. Louis, Penguins on top of Atlantic Division

(NEWSER) - The Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins for the 10th straight time and took over the top spot in East tonight with a 4-2 win, reports the Associated Press. (NEWSER) - The Columbus Blue Jackets’ backup net minder Fredrik Norrena stopped 18 shots en route to his first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win over the Calgary Flames.
