(NEWSER) - See ya, Sean. The NFL today confirmed its ruling that New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton is out for the season over the team's "bounty" scandal , the New York Times reports. In upholding the suspension, Commissioner Roger Goodell disagreed with a Saints lawyer who blamed the bounty program on former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams (who is banned from football indefinitely ). Two team execs will also serve short suspensions. No word yet on whether Bill Parcells will replace Payton, but whoever does will have less than two weeks to prepare for the draft. More»

(NEWSER) - The NFL unveiled its new, Nike-designed uniforms yesterday, bringing a sleeker look and new, drier fabrics to the gridiron, reports CBS News . The Nike partnership with the NFL is new, taking over after years of Reebok uniforms. "I love them,'' said Commissioner Roger Goodell. League owners approved a proposed 10-year labor agreement this evening, and the 4-month lockout will be over if the players follow suit, reports USA Today . Lockout restored evening after players return to work

(NEWSER) - The NFL locked its players out again on last night after a legal victory in its battle with players over the future of the business, capping one of the most chaotic weeks in football history. An appeals court granted the league's request to reinstate the lockout and issued a temporary stay of a federal judge's order to lift it , reports AP . The league will seek a longer stay next week to extend the lockout while it appeals the judge's ruling. More»
