(NEWSER) - Apple is about to get more than a billion new potential customers for the iPhone 4s—but many of them may find it tricky communicating with Siri just yet. The smartphone will be launched in China and 21 other countries next week, and while its voice-activated virtual assistant currently only speaks English, French, and German, Apple says it plans to add Mandarin later this year, the Los Angeles Times reports. (NEWSER) - The just-announced iPhone 4S may not be an iPhone 5 , but it is still another big hit for Apple, which sold out its pre-orders in just 12 hours, reports the International Business Times . AT&T alone reported more than 200,000 pre-orders, saying it was the most successful iPhone launch ever, and Sprint and Verizon also reported strong sales. Execs feel confident network can handle it

(NEWSER) - The good news just keeps on coming for iPhone lovers who want to switch to Verizon: The network will offer unlimited data plans when it starts selling the iPhone, at least initially. AT&T stopped offering unlimited plans over the summer, and admitted it did not anticipate how much stress the iPhone would place on its network.
