(NEWSER) - Ashton Kutcher still has a job: CBS has officially picked up Two and a Half Men for a 10th season, reports the Hollywood Reporter . The renewed deal gives Kutcher and co-stars Jon Cryer and Angus T Jones raises, with Kutcher reported to now be making $725,000 an episode, up from his current $700,000. Two and a Half Men hit a minor slump late last season, but pulls in solid ratings and significant cash for CBS. More»

ABC Cancels Desperate Housewives

Once-dominant drama will end after next season, source says

(NEWSER) - Things might have just gotten a little more desperate than usual over on Wisteria Lane: ABC is canceling longtime stalwart Desperate Housewives, the network confirmed today to the AP. "We want to make sure it has its victory lap," ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee said in making the announcement that the show would end after next season. The show, which has seen once-stellar ratings lag, is also losing creator Marc Cherry as producer next season. More»

Ted Danson Joining CSI Cast

Fishburne out as chief of Las Vegas crew

(NEWSER) - Ted Danson's new role won't involve as many hijinks as Cheers, but there'll still be plenty of late nights. The actor is joining CSI next season as the graveyard shift supervisor at the Las Vegas crime lab. Laurence Fishburne is leaving the show and CBS had considered actors including Tony Shaloub, Robin Williams, and John Lithgow for the role before settling on Danson, sources tell Entertainment Weekly . Katie Couric's Big Announcement

NBC made one last run at its old sweetheart

(NEWSER) - ABC has at long last officially announced that it's signed Katie Couric to host an afternoon talk show , beating out a last-minute push from NBC. In a statement , the network said it had a "multi-year, multi-platform" agreement with the former CBS anchor, that will also include appearances on all of ABC's other news shows. Details of what the New York Times calls "one of television's worst-kept secrets" have not yet been released, but Couric will be co-owner of the program and will share in the profits. More»
