Patterson used drugs in the 70s when he was 23, he said in an interview on TV news channel New York 1. The New York governor apologized for his "private" misconduct, again without making direct reference to the prostitution scandal that has ended his political career. Assemblyman James Tedisco says he’s asked the governor to step down within 48 hours, CBS 2 in New York reports, adding, “I think that’s plenty of time.” Spitzer is currently holed up with his advisors discussing his options, but aides tell the Albany Times-Union they expect a resignation.
