Bruins wake up in time creep closer to third straight Final Four

(NEWSER) - UCLA held its breath last night until Cinderella finally decided to go home. With point guard Darren Collison fouling out with five minutes left, the Bruins had to hold on down the stretch for an 88-78 win over 12th-seeded Western Kentucky, reports the Los Angeles Times. The Bruins now just need to beat Xavier tomorrow to reach a third straight Final Four. More»

(NEWSER) - It was hard to tell what was more important in Wisconsin's 72-55 win over Kansas State, today: the points Trevon Hughes scored, or the ones Michael Beasley didn't. Hughes scored 25, as the third-seeded Badgers sent the Wildcats home with a second-round win in the NCAA Tournament. Freshman Beasley scored 23 for Kansas State, but only six in the second half. (NEWSER) - Jerel McNeal did most of the work and Wesley Matthews sealed the deal as Marquette defeated Kentucky 74-66 today in the first round the NCAA Tournament, reports the AP. McNeal had 20 points and Matthews hit eight free throws in the final 31 seconds to put the Wildcats away. More»
