(NEWSER) - Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo is still in the hospital following last weekend’s tour bus crash, but his condition’s improving, and the doctors say he’ll probably be released in the next few days. “Yesterday Rivers finally made it onto his feet for the first time since the crash, going on two hospital hallway walks with the aid of a walker,” said the band’s website . Rivers Cuomo Injured in Weezer Bus Crash

Indie darlings were en route from Toronto to Boston

(NEWSER) - Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo suffered minor injuries this morning when a bus carrying the band from Toronto to Boston ran off the New York State Thruway about 40 miles west of Albany. Cuomo complained of rib pain and was taken to a local hospital after the tour bus slid on ice and wound up in a roadside ditch. Drug overdose suspected in death of Mikey Welsh

(NEWSER) - Former Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh has been found dead in a Chicago hotel room at age 40, reports the Chicago Tribune . Police suspect a drug overdose is involved. Welsh was found unresponsive yesterday afternoon after he failed to check out of his room at 1pm; he was reportedly in town to watch his former band play tonight. Current bassist Scott Shriner tweeted this morning: "Really bummed about Mikey. My heart goes out to his family and friends. Such a talent... he made a special mark on the world with his art." More»
