Scott, Mora provide the offense as Baltimore breaks streak against Washington

(NEWSER) - Luke Scott homered, Melvin Mora hit a tiebreaking double in the fifth inning and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Washington Nationals 5-3 Friday night for their sixth win in seven games. Left-hander Garrett Olson (3-0) struggled through five innings but remained undefeated in four starts since being recalled from Triple-A. (NEWSER) - Luke Scott homered and had three of Baltimore's 11 hits off Josh Beckett, and the Orioles received a fine pitching performance from Jeremy Guthrie in a 5-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. (NEWSER) - Ian Kinsler hit a two-run homer and then got hit by a pitch, setting up a fourth-inning brawl in the Texas Rangers' 5-0 win over the Seattle Mariners last night. Richie Sexson charged the mound and flung his helmet at Rangers starter Kason Gabbard after the left-hander threw a pitch to him. Both benches cleared, but no punches were thrown. Sexson was ejected. (NEWSER) - Vicente Padilla allowed two hits over seven innings to outpitch Erik Bedard and Milton Bradley homered as the Texas Rangers beat the struggling Seattle Mariners 2-0 Wednesday night.
