Blackhawks beat Flyers, end 49-year title drought with OT goal

(AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup last night, beating the Philadelphia Flyers 4-3 in overtime in Game 6 for their first championship since 1961. Patrick Kane scored the winning goal about 4:10 into overtime, and no one but the Blackhawks appeared to realize what was going on for a few frozen moments. The goal light never went on, but that didn't stop most of the Blackhawks from storming the ice and mobbing each other in celebration. More»

(NEWSER) - Two of the NHL's oldest franchises got together for some old-school outdoors hockey today, with the Detroit Red Wings beating the Chicago Blackhawks 6-4, the Chicago Tribune reports.
