(NEWSER) - Wes Helms singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth and the Florida Marlins beat the Washington Nationals 6-5 last night. Helms' one-out grounder up the middle off reliever Saul Rivera (1-1) scored Dan Uggla from second, ending the Marlins' two-game losing streak. Washington starter Redding gets win despite one bad inning

(NEWSER) - Nick Johnson hit a three-run double and drove in four runs, leading Washington to a 6-4 win over the Florida Marlins on Friday. Johnson's two-out double in the seventh inning off reliever Taylor Tankersley helped the Nationals end a three-game skid. (NEWSER) - Jake Peavy won for the first time in more than three weeks and Tadahito Iguchi hit the go-ahead two-run double to help the San Diego Padres defeat the Florida Marlins 7-2 on last night.
