Jurors deadlocked in Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful dismissal suit against Marc Cherry

(NEWSER) - With jurors deadlocked 8-4 in favor of actress Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful dismissal lawsuit against Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and ABC, a Los Angeles judge has declared a mistrial. After three days of deliberations, jurors could not get the ninth vote they needed to reach a verdict, reports CNN . Sheridan had sought $5.7 million in damages, and contends that Cherry killed off her character after she complained that he hit her during rehearsals. Nicollette Sheridan sues for assault, wrongful termination

(NEWSER) - The Desperate Housewives drama isn’t just onscreen: Former cast member Nicollette Sheridan is suing series creator Marc Cherry for allegedly assaulting her. Sheridan claims Cherry behaved “in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner” on set, and in 2008—after she questioned one of the scripts—he “forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,” according to legal documents obtained by TMZ . (NEWSER) - Wisteria Lane's population is going to shrink by one. Nicollette Sheridan, who plays Edie, is leaving the show, reports E! Online. A new script is in the works about Edie's demise, probably a car accident of some sort, but there's no word on when it will air. ABC confirmed the turn of events, and a rep for the 45-year-old actress says Sheridan "is looking forward to her next project." More»
