FEC finding another blow to NY rep.

(NEWSER) - Rep. Charles Rangel and his campaign have agreed to cough up a $23,000 fine for using a rent-stabilized New York City apartment as a campaign headquarters. The Federal Election Committee decided by leasing the Harlem apartment at a price well below the market rate, the Democrat had accepted an illegal campaign contribution, the New York Times reports. Arid Uka shot at servicemen in Frankfurt last year

(AP) - An Islamic extremist who killed two US airmen bound for Afghanistan at Frankfurt airport last year and injured two others was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison today. The state court in Frankfurt convicted 22-year-old Arid Uka of two counts of murder. It also found him guilty of three counts of attempted murder and serious bodily harm for wounding two other servicemen and taking aim at a third before his 9mm pistol jammed. More»

Nordine Amrani was also stockpiling weapons, growing marijuana

(NEWSER) - The plot thickened today in the case of the grenade and shooting rampage in Liege, Belgium , when police announced that they'd found a woman's body hidden in a shack that alleged gunman Nordine Amrani was using to grow marijuana. The woman is said to be a 45-year-old who worked for Amrani's neighbors as a cleaner, the BBC reports. The shack also contained a stockpile of weapons and ammunition. More»
