Nichols, Ferri star in weekend farewells

(NEWSER) - Two of the dance world's biggest names took their leave this weekend as Alessandra Ferri and Kyra Nichols sashayed into retirement in touchingly similar fashion—onstage with their young children in a hail of cheers and flowers. Natalie Portman 'can't move,' squawks dancer-double Sarah Lane

(NEWSER) - Uh-oh. The black swan is emerging in the ballet dancer who doubled for actress Natalie Portman. Sarah Lane, a performer with the American Ballet Theatre, now says she performed some 95% of the "full body shot" dances in Black Swan. "I would say 5% are Natalie," says Lane. "From a professional dancer's standpoint, she doesn't look like a professional ballet dancer at all, and she can't dance in pointe shoes. And she can't move her body—she's very stiff." Ouch. (NEWSER) - Oh baby, it's so hard not to move watching Beyoncé tear up the screen in her Single Ladies video—even if you are wearing a diaper. Baby Cory knows. With a couple of squats, a few leg jiggles and a wag of the head he's gone viral with his dance prowess on YouTube. Cory's video was uploaded to YouTube in January, but views have skyrocketed in the wake of Beyonce's MTV Video of the Year win. Who knows?
