Woman shot mom 6 times before grabbing boy

(NEWSER) - Police stormed a Texas apartment yesterday to find the snatched newborn of a murdered mom alive and well. Little Keegan Schuchardt, just three days old, was taken out of his car seat in a pickup owned by his 28-year-old mom, who was shot six times by a woman in the parking lot of a pediatrician's office, according to authorities. The wounded mom tried to climb into the shooter's car to retrieve her baby, but was knocked down as the vehicle sped off, and she died later in a local hospital. More»

Kid Charged in Grisly Crash That Killed 9 Immigrants

15-year-old said he drove the van because his family had been threatened

(AP) - A 15-year-old South Texas boy has been charged with nine counts of murder after a van he was driving crashed, killing nine of the suspected illegal immigrants packed inside. The boy appeared at a probable cause hearing today, where he was also charged with 17 counts of smuggling a person, among other things. (NEWSER) - A death row inmate in Texas was spared Wednesday just as he was finishing his last meal on earth—chicken, a bacon cheeseburger, fries, catfish, onion rings, and a salad.
