Company disputes Greenpeace's data center figures

(NEWSER) - Apple is the worst offender among tech giants relying on "dirty energy" like coal to fuel gigantic data centers, according to a scathing Greenpeace report released this week. The report also slammed Amazon and Microsoft for excessive energy use, while praising Facebook, Google, and Yahoo for their efforts to use more renewable energy for cloud computing. Little-known US oil company has spent $67M to foster doubt

Koch funneled $25 million into groups opposed to climate change from 2005 to 2008—three times as much as big name operations like ExxonMobil. Greenpeace protesters urge Copenhagen deal

(NEWSER) - As the sun rose over the Colosseum in Rome this morning, something else was going up: Greenpeace activists climbed the first two tiers of the ancient building in a demonstration urging a climate change deal at Copenhagen. Protesters dressed in orange jumpsuits held up a banner reading, "Copenhagen: Make History Now," while 50 other protesters lay down on the ground to form the words "act now" with their bodies, AP reports.
