Oprah Tops Powerful Celebs List Again

(NEWSER) - Angelina Jolie has dethroned Oprah as the world's most powerful celebrity, says Forbes in its annual top 100 list. Oprah may make more money, but Jolie's constant media buzz and string of blockbusters give her the edge. Here's the top 10:

1. Angelina Jolie
2. Oprah
3. Madonna
4. Beyoncé
5. Tiger Woods

And Oprah's back on top, thank you very much, Angelina

(NEWSER) - Lady Gaga debuted at an impressive No. 4 on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list, while Oprah Winfrey reclaimed her top spot, dropping last year's queen Angelina Jolie to a meager No. 18. The top five "World's Most Powerful Celebrities:"

1. Oprah Winfrey: earned $315 million over the past year
2. Beyonce Knowles: climbed up two spots from last year
3. James Cameron: can probably thank Avatar for his high ranking

Brad and Angelina make the list, but only at No. 3

(NEWSER) - Jay-Z and Beyoncé are Hollywood's top-earning couple. In the annual Forbes rankings, they finished No. 1 for the second year in a row by pulling in a combined $122 million between June 2008 and June 2009. The others in the top five:

• No. 2: Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, $69 million.
• No. 3: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: $55 million.
• No. 4: Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, $48 million.
• No. 5: David and Victoria Beckham, $46 million.

Brangelina have some stiff competition

(NEWSER) - Brad and Angelina's Oscar nods have confirmed their status as Earth's top power couple, Ben Kaplan writes in the National Post. But they better watch out for these contenders:

• Sacha Baron Cohen & Isla Fisher: Borat’s alter-ego has a Bruno film on way, and Fisher’s red locks are gracing one movie poster after another.
• Jay-Z & Beyoncé: Even in Urkel glasses, Jay-Z showed “swagger” as his wife serenaded Washington's biggest power couple last week.

Cruises, Beckhams, Smiths, Brangelina also on Forbes rundown

(NEWSER) - With "an $82 million hip-hop brand and an $80 million R&B empire" in their collective pocket, Beyoncé Knowles and Jay-Z take the top spot on Forbes' list of highest-earning celeb mates. The runners-up:

• Will and Jada Pinkett Smith earned a cumulative $85 million from June 2007–June 2008. The split here was much less equitable: Will raked in $80 million with massive box office returns.
