(NEWSER) - Star Jones' ex, Al Reynolds, used YouTube to make it official—he is not gay, just "kind of soft." His coming-in announcement prompts Radar to list the 10 best moments in defensive heterosexuality.

(NEWSER) - Mascots have danced, tumbled, and roused American sports fans for decades. Some have even gained a little prestige over the years. Forbes lists its Top 10:

1. Phillie Phanatic. Around since '78, this green creature once scuffled with Tommy Lasorda and inspired an announcer to say that "baseball is being invaded by the Muppets."
2. San Diego Chicken. The first modern mascot, he was fired by the Padres after (some say) he got too big for his feathers. He later sparked fans in other sports and became a mini-celeb in his own right.
3. Mr. Met. This baseball-faced mascot has been soothing the pains of New York's "other" team for more than 40 years.

Study finds females are 'more fluid with their sexuality'

(NEWSER) - A new study rejects the idea that women can be "bisexual until graduation," ABC News reports. Utah professor Lisa Diamond followed 79 women between 18 and 25 who identified as "lesbian, bisexual, or 'unlabeled'" for a decade. Throughout, she found that few changed their self-categorization. Group wants students expelled by 'secret court' in 1920 recognized

(NEWSER) - In 1920, seven students were expelled from Harvard University because they were gay or thought to be gay—and now a group of students and faculty wants the school to award the seven with posthumous degrees. The group also wants Harvard to formally abolish its "secret court," the group of administrators who investigated possibly homosexual students in 1920, which only became public in 2002 when a student reporter discovered the "court" and its expulsion of the seven students. Texas Rangers catcher Yorvit Torrealba gets mad after strikeout

(NEWSER) - For any non-baseball fans out there, this is a huge no-no. Texas Rangers catcher Yorvit Torrealba was playing in the Venezuelan League on Friday when he struck out badly and began yelling at the home plate umpire—probably over a strike call earlier in the at-bat. The two of them jaw for a good 15 seconds before Torrealba smacks the ump flat in the face mask, the Sporting News reports. The blow even sends the umpire stumbling backward. More»
