JPMorgan: Dimon Will Testify

Congressional panel invites CEO

(NEWSER) - It’s not a trial , but JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon will testify before Congress with regard to the bank’s $3 billion trading loss . "As always, we will continue to be open and transparent with our regulators and Congress," says a spokesman who confirms Dimon will appear before the US Senate Banking Committee following an invitation from the panel. No word yet on the exact date, but it will be some time after June 6, Reuters reports. (A Wall Street Journal report yesterday revealed that Dimon "couldn’t breathe" when he saw JPMorgan’s losses.) Freedom Tower Now NYC's Tallest ... Sort Of

(NEWSER) - It’s a momentous day in New York today: The World Trade Center is once again the city's tallest structure. The skeleton of the still-under-construction "Freedom Tower" will today surpass 1,250 feet, the AP reports, making it just a hair higher than the Empire State Building. But the title comes with something of an asterisk, because if you count the Empire State Building's antenna, that building is still taller, at 1,454 feet. More»
