(NEWSER) - The brutal murder of a Massachusetts woman was witnessed by a pal of her teenage daughter seconds after the friends were chatting on her iPad. Police say the 15-year-old girl was in the middle of a video chat when she went into the kitchen because she heard her parents arguing there. As the friend looked on via the iPad, police say Christopher Piantedosi chased the girl's mother into the bedroom and stabbed her repeatedly with a butcher knife, the Union-Leader reports. More»

(AP) - Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was stabbed to death in Rotterdam today, and his brother has been arrested as a suspect, Dutch police tell the AP . Police were called to a home in the wee hours of the morning, where they found Halman, 24, still bleeding but were unable to resuscitate him. His brother, 22, has been taken in for questioning, but has not yet been charged. "It will take some time to figure out what exactly happened," a police spokesman said. More»

(NEWSER) - A 76-year-old Boy Scout leader has died after being stabbed in the neck yesterday while taking another adult and two boys on a hike, reports AP . Police busted Shane Golitko, a 22-year-old man who lives close to the Indiana hiking trail where the unprovoked attack occurred. Golitko's mother called 911 just before the stabbing, saying he broke her arm and stabbed two dogs before walking to the trail where the Boy Scouts were walking, said investigators. Police arrested Golitko after an eight-mile car chase. More»
