The senator says his concern was prompted by incidents last year when students guzzled too many caffeinated alcoholic drinks for a quick buzz. Salmonella concerns at Hartz Mountain Corp.

(NEWSER) - Careful what you’re feeding Fido, folks. A major pet product company—Hartz Mountain Corp.—is recalling 75,000 bags of its Hartz Naturals Real Beef dog treats, after a random FDA test discovered salmonella in at least one bag. So far there haven’t been any reports of animals falling ill, but Hartz is urging anyone who bought the tainted treats to throw them away. Huge pistachio recall issued after salmonella found at processor

(NEWSER) - Consumers have been warned to steer clear of pistachios and any product containing them until the FDA probes the extent of salmonella contamination, reports WebMD. A million pounds of possibly tainted pistachios from a California processor have been recalled and authorities expect that more recalls will follow.
