One aspires to be a class action suit, representing anyone who owned JPMorgan stock from April 13 to May 10, the Wall Street Journal reports, explaining that April 13 was the date of the company's first-quarter results conference call. (NEWSER) - Four months after the Supreme Court decided that 1.5 million past and present female workers at Walmart couldn't be lumped together in a single class-action suit , the first of what promises to be a flood of fresh lawsuits have begun. The original plaintiffs—who say they were denied pay rises and promotions because of gender bias—have filed class-action suits on behalf 95,000 of the retail giant's female employees in California, and on behalf of up to 45,000 workers in Texas. (NEWSER) - A group of 75 former NFL players is suing the league, claiming that it has been hiding the harmful effects of the concussions for nearly a century. “The NFL knew as early as the 1920s of the harmful effects on a player's brain of concussions,” the lawsuit reads, according to a copy obtained by TMZ . "However, until June of 2010 they concealed these facts from coaches, trainers, players, and the public." More»

(NEWSER) - Those of you hoping to see Taco Bell forced to defend the beefiness of its beef in court will be disappointed: The law firm that filed a class-action lawsuit against the fast food chain has now withdrawn it. The suit looked to force Taco Bell to stop calling its meat "beef," since, the suit alleged, the meat is actually just 36% beef . But Taco Bell said yesterday those allegations are "absolutely wrong" and that the lawsuit was voluntarily withdrawn with no money exchanged. More»
