But one Pinterest user, who also happens to be a photographer and lawyer, delved into copyright law and the site's terms of use—and discovered that Pinterest protects itself while leaving users liable for any copyright violations that occur when pinning someone else's work. Megaupload Founder Hid From Cops in Panic Room

Police raid Kim Dotcom's fortified mansion

(NEWSER) - New Zealand police raided the fortified mansion of Megaupload founder "Kim Dotcom" today, and the arrest did not go smoothly. Police tell the AFP that when they arrived, Dotcom, who is also known as Kim Schmitz, "retreated into the house and activated a number of electronic locking mechanisms," eventually barricading himself inside a safe room police had to cut their way into. JK Rowling Sued for Plagiarism

Potter scribe named in suit brought by late author's estate

(NEWSER) - JK Rowling is being accused of copying material for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth book in her record-breaking series. Her name was recently added to a multimillion-dollar suit against her publisher, Bloomsbury, brought by the estate of the author of another wizard-themed book. The suit alleges that a substantial part of the 2000 bestseller was lifted from a 1987 book called The Adventures of Willy the Wizard: No 1 Livid Land by Adrian Jacobs. More»
