In the first crash, a helicopter went down in the west of the country after leaving the scene of a firefight with insurgents, killing 10 Americans—seven troops and three civilians working for the government. Care was delayed not only by the slow manifestation of symptoms from the epidural hematoma she suffered, but also by the lack of helicopter transport. Girl was being transported to Chicago hospital for seizure treatment

(AP) - A medical helicopter crashed in a Chicago suburb late last night, killing three crew members and a 13-month-old patient. The helicopter was headed to Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago from just outside the city when it went down minutes before midnight. A hospital spokeswoman said the little girl was being transported to the hospital because of epileptic seizures. More»
