Athletes, reality faves round out competitors for ABC's next season

(NEWSER) - Dancing With the Stars' seventh season will be a record-breaker, ABC News reports. Thirteen celebrities will vie for victory, including the show’s youngest- and oldest-ever contestants. A few more familiar faces to expect:

1. Lance Bass: The former 'N Sync heartthrob and wannabe astronaut’s dancing experience should give him an edge over the competition.
2. Toni Braxton: This Grammy-Award winning legend boasts the second-biggest song in history from a female artist, “Un-Break My Heart.”
3. Susan Lucci: The soap star is finally making the move to prime time—but will her moves make the grade?

(NEWSER) - Perhaps you just can’t bring yourself to Occupy Wall Street, but we think we’ve found a cause everyone can finally get behind. A new online petition, titled “ No More Kardashian ,” calls for E! to boot the family from the airwaves, and ABC News reports that as of Tuesday, 70,601 had signed (it's up to almost 160,000 as of this posting). It’s also worth mentioning that a “Boycott the Kardashians” Facebook page has more than 55,000 fans. The organizer of the petition tells Yahoo! TV , “It is a sad truth that many young people are looking up to this family and are modeling their appearance and behavior after them." More here . (NEWSER) - Any of you hoping Bristol Palin would quickly emerge as a Dancing With the Stars frontrunner were likely disappointed while watching last night’s premiere. Palin managed not to come in last, however, landing herself in the middle with a score of 18. David Hasselhoff , Mike “ The Situation ” Sorrentino, and Margaret Cho claimed the last-place spots with scores of 15, the AP reports, while Jennifer Grey of Dirty Dancing fame came in first with 24. One 'Sarah Palin's Alaska' guest star: Kate Gosselin

(NEWSER) - The fall TV season really starts on Sunday, Nov., 14, when the first episode of Sarah Palin's Alaska airs. "It takes a special individual to thrive in Alaska," says the head of TLC, the network best know for inflicting the Gosselin family on America. Not coincidentally, Kate Gosselin of Kate Plus 8, another TLC brainchild, will guest star during the eight-part series. "The Palins recently shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family, and that camping trip will be part of an episode," the exec tells the New York Daily News . More»
