(NEWSER) - A Pennsylvania man has become a case study in what not to say to cops. Devonte Davon Jeter was arrested for marijuana possession in May, and in a preliminary hearing yesterday, his lawyer made the case that the pot could have belonged to someone else in his car, the Beaver County Times reports. But it seems Jeter had already put a hole in that story: When the 19-year-old left custody in May, he "asked if he could have his weed back," an officer testified. "I don't know what else ‘Can I have my weed back' can mean, other than it's his," said a prosecutor. The judge, not so surprisingly, determined that there was enough evidence to hold the Jeter for trial. More»

Shooter quizzed over grenade report

(AP) - The Pennsylvania man who shot up a women's aerobics class, killing three people and then himself, was questioned a week earlier by police because he matched the description of a man seen pulling what appeared to be a grenade from a computer bag, authorities said today. (NEWSER) - Police in Bismarck, ND weren't surprised to get a drunk driving call on New Year's Eve—but they were surprised to hear from the driver herself, the Bismarck Tribune and AP report. A 17-year-old girl told them she had been driving through the city all evening and needed help. Crime is 'receiving sexual favors' from machine

(NEWSER) - A 29-year-old Michigan man was been jailed over the weekend for “receiving sexual favors from a vacuum” at a car wash, the Saginaw News reports. The policeman who—responding to a call of “someone acting suspicious”—discovered the man in the act said, “I've seen some strange things, but this is the weirdest thing I ever heard.” More»
