But we’re not so amusing either: Russia and Turkey came in as the second and third least-funny, while Britain and the US rounded out the top five. Indian Town Outlaws Cell Phones for Single Women

(NEWSER) - A council in northern India has forbidden all unmarried women from carrying cell phones, in an effort to prevent them from eloping with people of different castes. At least 23 young couples ran off and got married without their parents’ consent last year in Uttar Pradesh state, the AFP explains. “The panchayat (assembly) was convinced that the couples planned their elopement over their cell phones,” said one village elder. Iran Agrees to Refine Uranium in Turkey

Deal designed to temporarily prevent it from building a weapon

(AP) - Iran agreed today to ship most of its enriched uranium to Turkey in a nuclear fuel swap deal that could ease the international standoff over the country's disputed nuclear program and deflate a US-led push for tougher sanctions. The deal was reached in talks with Brazil and Turkey, a new group of mediators in the Iranian nuclear equation, but it is nearly identical to the UN-drafted plan Washington's been pushing Tehran to accept for six months.
