The Jets announced the deal this afternoon, but things nearly fell apart afterward over a $5 million clause in Tebow's contract. After last-minute talks, the Jets agreed to pay half the amount to Tebow's now-former team, the Denver Broncos, reports ESPN . (NEWSER) - Peyton Manning has a new mile-high contract: The just-released Colts quarterback , who turns a semi-creaky 36 years old on Saturday, has inked a $96 million deal with the Denver Broncos that will keep him tied up until he's an even creakier 41-year-old, reports ESPN , citing inside sources. The Broncos have scheduled a 3pm ET press conference in which they'll announce the five-year deal, which will put a certain über-religious QB out of work. More»

(NEWSER) - Is Tebow-mania on its knees in Denver? Peyton Manning has told his agent to begin negotiations with the Broncos, sources tell Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN . In a TV appearance, Schefter said Manning "fully intends" to play in Denver, and has already discussed the parameters of a 5-year, $95 million contract with GM John Elway. Peyton shopping hard for a team before free agency starts Tuesday

(NEWSER) - Peyton Manning's Tour de NFL teams continues, last night making a stop in the Arizona desert for talks with the Cardinals. The hush-hush stop marks his second—the Colts' former golden boy earlier met with the Denver Broncos and will likely drop by the Miami Dolphins ahead of Tuesday, which marks the start of free agency, notes the Arizona Republic . Manning would likely want to have a team picked by then, but logistics over the quarterback's health and pay could prove dicey. Arizona may be looking to pick up a marquis player, as well as dump current QB Kevin Kolb before his $7 million bonus comes due March 17. More»
