(AP) - Iran has halted oil shipments to Britain and France, the Oil Ministry said today, in an apparent pre-emptive blow against the European Union's sanctions on Iran's oil exports. The EU imposed tough sanctions against Iran last month, which included a freeze of the country's central bank assets and an oil embargo set to begin in July. Iran's Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi had warned earlier this month that Tehran could cut off oil exports to "hostile" European nations. The 27-nation EU accounts for about 18% of Iran's oil exports. Poppy on the mend after plunge into ocean off England

(NEWSER) - Poppy the springer spaniel is on the mend after chasing a seagull over a cliff and right into the English Channel. Despite suffering a partially collapsed lung, the dog swam to shore beneath the "Seven Sisters" chalk cliffs on the East Sussex coast and awaited the arrival of a lifeboat. "She ran so fast there was no chance of her stopping," says her owner. "She was shivering," one of Poppy's rescuers tells the Telegraph . "She was cold and nervous but apart from that she was as good as gold." More»
