(NEWSER) - Uggs have never been more sartorially controversial than they are right now: The Australian shoemaker has unveiled a new line of wedding Uggs , causing many a blogger and Twitter user to express their horror at the very idea. But not everyone is saying "I don't." Some reactions:

• "Ugg's I Do! collection gives ex wives-to-be three options for relaxed yet idiotic footwear for their Big Day," writes Erin Gloria Ryan on Jezebel . "Can I call a pair of shoes a miscarriage? An abortion? How about an ectopic pregnancy? An ovarian cyst? This is everything bad, painful, or inconvenient that can happen in or around a woman's uterus, but in shoe form."

(NEWSER) - The slimy eel-like creature known as a sea lamprey happens to be the special ingredient in a traditional English pie that will be cooked up for Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate the 60th anniversary of her reign in June, reports the Detroit Free Press . Family suggests he had doubts about marriage

(NEWSER) - On Saturday, Fernando Brazier married longtime girlfriend Trudian Hay. The next morning, he walked out of their hotel and threw himself into the Harlem River, where he was found dead that afternoon. Hay found a note from him at the front desk, along with his wedding ring. “He said [in the note] he couldn’t take it anymore, and to take care of the kids,” Brazier’s sister tells the New York Post . (NEWSER) - They met while looking for a place to pray amid the tents and protesters in Zuccotti Park. A month later, the two lovebirds said "I do" in the very same park, surrounded by friends and fellow Occupiers, the New York Daily News reports. Emery Abdel-Latif, 24, and Micha Balon, 19, tied the knot this morning in a tradition Muslim wedding on a small bench. "This is a good way not to make the marriage about ourselves,” says Balon. “We are fighting for equality here." More»
