After alleged bank break-in, actor due back in court Feb. 17

(NEWSER) - Rip Torn appeared in court in Connecticut today to face charges related to an alleged bank break-in Friday evening and was released on $100,000 bond. The 78-year-old actor will enter alcohol rehab as soon as possible, his lawyer said. The numerous charges against him include burglary, trespassing, and carrying a firearm while intoxicated. Brit was riding with unprotected 14-year-old son

(NEWSER) - A British biker has been sentenced to 6 months in jail after police caught him screaming by at 122mph with his 14-year-old son, who wasn’t wearing any safety gear, holding onto the seat with his bare hands, the BBC reports. The man, Robert Bennett, 47, had earlier pleaded guilty to dangerous driving. “Had you lost control of your motorcycle, it would have become a missile and caused a serious accident and probably death,” the judge said.
