Even more so than young men, says Pew survey

(NEWSER) - Among today's young people, more young women are eager to rake in cash than are their male counterparts. Some two-thirds of 18- to 34-year-old women say a successful, high-paying job is "one of the most important things" or "very important" to them, a Pew report finds, compared to 59% of young men. And we all grow more moral as we age: study

(NEWSER) - Women are the more moral sex, making choices in light of others' needs, a study suggests. Men, on the other hand, tend to focus on themselves, the Telegraph reports. The female approach "tends to produce better decisions," says the philosopher who conducted the study. But both sexes become more moral as they get older, he notes. Roger Steare reviewed "Moral DNA test" surveys by some 60,000 volunteers in 200 countries. New report focuses on disparities in funding, incidence, survival

(NEWSER) - The number of women diagnosed with lung cancer is soaring, but federal funding for research lags even though the disease is more common than cancer of the breast, prostate, and colon—combined. A new report drills down on research about women and lung cancer, sorting out findings about incidence, gender disparities, and survival. Perhaps most interesting, "all federal spending for lung cancer research amounts to $1,249 for each lung cancer death," Richard Know writes for NPR . A new study had subjects participate in a few rounds of speed dating. When the males approached the females, the men reported more enthusiasm about their partners—i.e., they were less selective.
