Suffered a stress fracture before Open

(AP) - Tiger Woods will miss the rest of the season because of surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left knee, AP reports—an injury he has dealt with the last 10 months despite winning nine of 12 tournaments. But the 2002 US Amateur champion set the US Open 36-hole scoring record earlier by finishing two trips around the course in 8-under 132.
