(NEWSER) - The brutal murder of a Massachusetts woman was witnessed by a pal of her teenage daughter seconds after the friends were chatting on her iPad. Police say the 15-year-old girl was in the middle of a video chat when she went into the kitchen because she heard her parents arguing there. As the friend looked on via the iPad, police say Christopher Piantedosi chased the girl's mother into the bedroom and stabbed her repeatedly with a butcher knife, the Union-Leader reports. More»

(AP) - A 15-year-old South Texas boy has been charged with nine counts of murder after a van he was driving crashed, killing nine of the suspected illegal immigrants packed inside. The boy appeared at a probable cause hearing today, where he was also charged with 17 counts of smuggling a person, among other things. (NEWSER) - Lizzie Borden is back in the spotlight, more than a century after her murder trial, thanks to her attorney's diaries. The two 100-page handwritten journals, which Andrew Jackson Jennings kept in a Victorian bathtub, were left to the Fall River Historical Society after Jennings' grandson died, ABC News reports. One journal contains newspaper clippings about the 1892 case, in which Borden was acquitted of killing her father and stepmother with an ax, and the other journal contains Jennings' notes from interviews he conducted during the case. New details surface in murders of singer's family

(NEWSER) - Jennifer Hudson didn't approve of the relationship between her sister Julia and William Balfour, the man accused of killing Hudson's mother, brother, and nephew in 2008, according to newly filed court documents. Hudson grew up near Balfour and the two attended the same elementary school. She told detectives there was tension between her family and Balfour's over the relationship Balfour had with Julia Hudson, and that her family didn't learn of Julia's marriage to Balfour until months after it happened in late 2006. Hudson had advised Julia not to marry Balfour, she told prosecutors. More»
