Facebook isn't happy, fights back

(NEWSER) - A new site promises to set people free from the chains of social networking, and Facebook is not amused. The site, Web 2.0 Suicide Machine , is designed to permanently remove people's accounts from Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and LinkedIn. (See the video for details.) Integration will boost traffic on both sites, they hope

(NEWSER) - Yahoo is finally getting seriously social in a new partnership that will integrate Facebook Connect into its many properties. Yahoo users will be able monitor their Facebook feed on Yahoo, and vice versa. The integration will be done “on a deep level,” a Yahoo exec tells Kara Swisher, who finds it ironic in light of the fact that Yahoo almost managed to acquire Facebook for just over $1 billion several years ago. Social-networking site gives companies a cheap medium to find the techno-savvy

(NEWSER) - For some firms, Twitter is playing the role of headhunter: companies like Verizon and Microsoft are posting openings on the social-networking site, the Wall Street Journal reports. Job boards have “become saturated,” says a Newell Rubbermaid VP. “With Twitter, we don't have to go through that huge pile of résumés.” And the tweets have seen big successes: in one week, 4,622 Twitter visitors ended up at one firm’s job-listings site.
