(NEWSER) - A shared glance with a beautiful stranger once inspired hours of pining and poetry. Nowadays there's "Missed Connections," a 12-year-old service on Craigslist that helps people reconnect. Mashable runs down 12 strange listings from last year:

1. "minotaur, halloween, downtown": A man eyed a "tall blonde" in a "creepy minotaur mask" and high heels. Admittedly, she was wearing underwear, "but I think even if you'd been dressed more modestly it would have had the same impact."

'Supermarkets of love' no better than bars for meeting people: Study

(NEWSER) - If you're living with your significant other, don't worry too much about tying the knot, because it won't make you any happier, according to a new study. The study followed 2,737 single men and women for six years, watching as 896 of them either got married or moved in with a lover, Science Daily reports. The results? Both married couples and cohabitators exhibited higher levels of happiness and fewer depression symptoms than single people—but married couples didn't have an advantage over those just cohabitating. Most think they can tell whether it’s “the real thing” after a single date, whereas women aren’t certain until the sixth, a study finds. For nearly a quarter of men, things move even faster: They believe in love at first sight and know whether a woman is “the one” after just seconds, the Telegraph reports.
