(NEWSER) - Pablo Escobar has made the transition in death from feared drug lord to Disney-esque tourist attraction. Visitors to Medellin, Colombia, can now shell out $40 for a three-hour tour of Escobar's favorite haunts when he ruled the city in the 1980s, reports the Guardian . The tour includes a stop at the building where police fatally gunned him down in 1993—"You can go inside to see for yourself how he attempted to escape," reads the brochure —and a meeting with his brother, who encourages photos, questions, and donations. (NEWSER) - Authorities have arrested 60 alleged members of an Iraqi drug ring run out of a southern California social club, seizing some $630,000 in cash, 3,500 pounds of marijuana, and a cache of firearms and explosives, the Los Angeles Times reports. The El Cajon-based club has been a “hub of criminal activity conducted by Iraqi organized crime,” say officials, who point to alleged links with Mexico’s Sinaloa cartel and a suspected Iraqi Chaldean crime ring in Detroit. Half of those nabbed in multi-city raids have Mexican cartel links

(NEWSER) - A vast multi-city gang sweep shows the extent to which Mexican drug cartels have penetrated American cities—and, say federal officials, the extent to which the government is willing to go to take them down. Some 678 gang members, including 421 nationals, were busted in 168 cities during Project Southern Tempest, ABC reports. Immigration and Customs Enforcement authorities say nearly half of those arrested were linked to Mexican drug gangs. More»
