There were positive signs overseas, including an IMF rescue plan for Hungary and Ukraine and a surprise rate cut from South Korea, but markets dove anyway, with Hong Kong sinking 12.7% and the Nikkei hitting a 26-year low. (NEWSER) - Stocks surged at the opening bell this morning, as traders registered approval of the central banks’ move to inject $360 billion into global money markets. (NEWSER) - Stocks fell today, with investors shying away from tech after Texas Instruments slashed its sales forecast.
