(NEWSER) - Rick Santorum donned his trademark sweater vest for an appearance on the Tonight Show last night, where Jay Leno wondered why his endorsement of Mitt Romney ended up buried in the 13th paragraph of an email sent late at night. "We decided to put it out late at night so it would be, sort of, the first thing people would see in the morning," Santorum said, adding that "it was a rough-and-tumble campaign," CNN reports. "I can't say it would have been an easy thing to turn around and say, 'Let's just go forward,'" he said. Will discuss spoof on Sikh holy place with State Department

(NEWSER) - Jay Leno has created a bit of an international brouhaha over a joke that's not sitting well with India's Sikh community. The Tonight Show last week displayed a picture of the holiest Sikh temple—the stunning Golden Temple of Amritsar—before Leno called it Mitt Romney's summer home. Sikhs have organized an online petition calling for Leno's "racist comments" to "be stopped right here," and an Indian official says the country's embassy plans to discuss the comment with the US State Department, the BBC reports. (NEWSER) - Roseanne Barr is running for president, or so she told Jay Leno last night . Could this all be a publicity stunt for her upcoming reality show, Roseanne's Nuts? She claims she's "totally serious," although it should be noted that she also said she's running for "prime minister of Israel. It's a twofer." Her party? "America's Green Tea Party." Her vice presidential running mate? "The taxpayers." Her slogan? "Finally a Politician Who Can't Get a Maid Pregnant." Jay Leno snags first post-sentencing interview

(NEWSER) - Lindsay Lohan might be facing another stint in jail and is definitely in store for some grim community service , but at least she scored a standing ovation on the Tonight Show. Lohan taped an appearance with Jay Leno that will air tonight, and apparently the crowd loved her, the Daily Mail reports. (It says she got the standing O afterward; TMZ says it happened when she walked on to the set.) Lohan talked about her recent troubles, telling Leno she felt "kind of numb" when she was sentenced to 120 days in jail and admitting she's "made a lot of mistakes." More»
