Apple CEO backs Calif. bill to boost donor ranks
(NEWSER) - Steve Jobs made some rare public comments today about the liver transplant that saved his life, saying, “I almost died” while waiting in California’s inadequate system. The Apple chief, 55, appeared with Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger at an event to push a bill that would make state drivers agree or decline to donate organs when they get a license, rather than have to affix a donor sticker themselves, the San Jose Mercury News reports.
