Bulls managed to claim a few victims during fastest run yet

(NEWSER) - Thousands of daredevil tourists have descended on Pamplona, Spain, for the annual running of the bulls that began today. Four were injured on the first day, including one American, though nobody was gored. As Time reports, sprinting ahead of six half-ton angry bulls is pretty dangerous, but many injuries result from slipping on cobblestones or knocking into other runners. More»

Killer bull becomes big celebrity in Spain

(NEWSER) - A 1,200-pound, 11-year-old bull named "Mouse" has become an unlikely star in Spain: After killing as three people —most recently on Aug. 14—and injuring five over the years, Mouse is now the most famous beast in the country, reports the AP . More than 3,000 fans turned out last night to cheer Mouse as dozens of daredevils ran through a bull ring, risking his wrath, as the theme from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly played through the stadium's loudspeakers. The biggest day of Pamplona—Spain's storied running of the bulls—was today, and miraculously, everybody lived to tell the tale, reports Sky News. Rampage in same region of Spain that hosts Running of the Bulls

(NEWSER) - A bull leapt into the stands at a bull ring in Spain yesterday, tearing through the crowd and injuring 40 people. He was eventually subdued and killed with the help of an ex-bull fighter who happened to be in the stands, the New York Times reports. While most of the injuries were minor, one man was gored in the back, another suffered a crushed vertebrae, and a 10-year-old boy remains in intensive care. More»
