(NEWSER) - An American consular employee shot and killed two armed men who approached his car on a busy street in Lahore, Pakistan yesterday, police said today. The gunmen drove at him on motorbikes, brandishing guns, in what police suspect was a robbery attempt, one officer told the AP . The unidentified American shot and killed them, and called another nearby embassy car for help. That car hit and killed a pedestrian while rushing to the scene. More»

Lamar Moore may have been related to man facing murder sentence

(NEWSER) - Police have identified the gunman who opened fire in a Detroit police precinct yesterday as Lamar Moore, 38. Moore, who was killed in return fire, is thought to have been related to a man set for sentencing today in a double homicide, said the city’s police chief. The four officers injured in the shooting are all expected to recover, reports the Detroit News . “It was a rough weekend for all of us but we're going to stand tall,” said the chief. A&E staff may have footage of killing

(NEWSER) - A reality television crew was on the scene when 7-year-old Aiyana Jones was shot by a Detroit police officer, and may have filmed the killing. The film crew of A&E's First 48 Hours accompanied cops as they sought a homicide suspect in a home. During a struggle with Aiyana's grandmother inside the house, an officer's gun discharged and killed the girl, according to police. An attorney for the family has stated, however, that video footage shows that police lobbed a flash grenade into the house and began shooting indiscriminantly into the home. More»
