(AP) - A car bomb ripped through a funeral tent in a mainly Shiite area of Baghdad today, killing at least 37 people, including four children and three women. The car, which exploded around 2pm, had been parked with the vehicles of other mourners, several yards away from the tent, so it wouldn't raise suspicion, police said. Voters casting ballots in parliamentary elections are targets

(AP) - A string of blasts across Baghdad targeting voters killed at least 17 people today, ratcheting up fear as many Iraqis cast early ballots ahead of Sunday's nationwide parliamentary elections. 125 wounded in attack near top Shiite shrine

(AP) - Back-to-back suicide bombings killed 60 and injured at least 125 today outside the most important Shiite shrine in Baghdad, the AP reports. The bombers detonated explosive belts within minutes of each other near the tomb of a prominent Shiite saint, shortly before the start of Friday prayers, as worshipers streamed in to the mosque, a key site for Shiite pilgrims; 25 Iranian pilgrims were among those killed in the blast. 25 wounded in Baghdad square blast

(AP) - A bomb tore through a busy square in Baghdad at midday today, killing at least 18 people and wounding 25, the AP reports. Iraqi police said the blast in a northern Baghdad Shiite neighborhood was a parked car bomb, apparently targeting a taxi stand. Some 60 miles south of Baghdad, a car bomb exploded as an Iraqi soldier and two others were trying to defuse it; all three were killed. More»
